Web Projects for Dreamers
By Marc Carson · Friday September 17, 2010
Some months ago I spoke with a friend about his latest web project. He had put a lot of thought into it, and wanted advice on how to start. Here’s what I told him:
“The important thing is to just start. Get going. Don’t put it off. It will be imperfect, but you can fix mistakes as you go along. The “how” isn’t as important as you think.”
Stop dreaming for a moment, and imagine what your project would be in its most simple, bare-bones form. Start with that.
The Web: Everything’s A Work in Progress
Remember that your (potential) web visitors don’t really care if your staff roster is incomplete, or if you haven’t quite ironed out all the details.
Just put it up there. Get it on the web. People want to know, and they want to connect.
Most of the popular websites you visit every day have lists a mile long, detailing the things they’d like to do when they have the time. But for now, they’re live, and imperfect, and people are flocking to them.
Let’s Go
Want to put up a website fast? I can do that for you. It doesn’t have to be complex or expensive. Drop me an email or give me a call and let’s get started.
If you still want to put some thought into it, fill out my Site Planner and see where inspiration takes you.
